Photography Update – June 25th | Davies Creative Workshops

Facebook Page

Please visit our Facebook page and give us a Like: http://www.facebook.com/dcworkshops – we are going to increase our Facebook presence and run a few contests there.

Also you can visit our blog at http://workshops.daviescreative.com/

New Studio is Complete

The new studio space is complete and it is amazing! It has more than double the shooting space. It is modern, clean and updated. It will allow for more creative light control as well as larger class sizes.  We’ll have some natural light options inside the studio now as well

We now have an entrance on the outside of the strip mall just to the right of the door you have used in the past.  There is a new purple sign over the entrance that reads “Alive Photography Studio Share” – just walk right in.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available for $50 per hour and can be done either in studio or on location. Invite your friends for steep discounts for additional students at a private lesson.  Contact me for more details.

Tips & Tricks Articles:

Lighting for High Key Glass – Part 2 – This is the second part of a series on shooting glass in the studio. This is from the Photoflex LiteBlog. It’s a great educational resource overall and I recommend going back and looking at previous lessons.

Street Photography Reading List – Mile High Photographers held a street photography workshop last week. Unfortunately I was unable to attend. After the workshop they shared a reading list from Amazon of books that were discussed during the workshop as recommended reading.

Album Chic has developed a process and workflow to help you narrow your options, price your albums to make a profit for you, and to simplify the entire process for your clients.

The goal of a workshop is to help simplify the overwhelming album process.  Album Chic’s workshops have been useful to the professional just starting to sell albums and to the seasoned pro that has included albums in their packages for years.  Here is a brief overview of what to expect to learn at a workshop:

  • How to choose an album vendor(s) to keep your album product line simple and allow for up-selling
  • How to calculate album costs with the Album Chic Cost Control Worksheet
  • How to sell an album and how this works with your contract
  • Workflow process after the event for timely and  profitable album delivery
